End of the Semester/Beginning of the Holidays
As the halls on campus empty out and students disperse to their homes for the holidays, we close the books on another successful semester and turn our attention to holiday gift giving. From perfume to plastic toys, this week and next, the team will share some safer suggestions for shopping for your loved ones.
Before you head off campus, I wanted to take a minute, as we often forget to do while facing finals, to reflect on how much has been done this term. From the early days of September presenting to the Women of UMass Fund to the late nights last week in the studio arts building (working on a video to be launched in the spring), the team has been devoted to establishing Protect Our Breasts. There have been road trips and road races, field events at quiet games and crowded concourses, and blog posts and always more research to be done, to bring you the conversation about chemicals in everyday products.
Behind the scenes, our science and standards advisory of highly notable industry and academic leaders has shown us what directions to take to provide truly safer solutions to everyday products with toxins. And the natural and organic companies who have given us product to share with you have been so generous! We are so grateful to all those who have supported us throughout the semester and to those who helped us reach our goal of Mission 3000 “likes” on Facebook!
Happy Holidays from Protect Our Breasts!
