We Can Make a Difference. We Can Refuse Breast Cancer: Expo West 2013

Yesterday, the Protect Our Breasts team landed at LAX for the Natural Products Expo West 2013 convention! For some of us, this was the first expo and for other the last. This is my third time at the show, and also my last, since I graduate in May.

The main reason we go to expo is to learn about safer products and meet with companies who make them, so that we can come back and offer education and safe alternatives to our peers.

Sometimes, learning about environmental toxins and their contribution to breast cancer can become overwhelming and hard to imagine that there is a light at the end of the tunnel when we are surrounded by so many dangerous products we use daily. However, when you get to expo you enter a whole new world! The Natural Products Expo West is filled with individuals who are passionate about safer products. These people have already changed the face of their businesses, and this industry.

I feel so lucky to have been able to go to three of these conventions in my college career because it leaves me hopeful and optimistic about the future. Not only am I able to learn a lot about the various labels and certifications, but also I have met a lot of people who have inspired me and reminded me that we CAN all make a difference! We can all work together and share the conversation, and protect our breasts!

We truly do have the power to refuse breast cancer, and it starts now…at this show…trying to find safer products for you.
